I have never been so amped.
I bought a used bike at the city auction today. An auction. In Danish. So badass. Also, I am in love with my new lil guy. Pics soon!

I should really be finishing my reading right now;
But I figure I’ll blog instead. So today is Day 11 in Denmark, and it already feels like I’ve been here forever! Since my last post, I’ve settled into my new place, Thorupsgade, and found out that there are a ton of grocery stores within 3 blocks of my place..which is good on some ways, very bad in others (aka, all I buy is dark chocolate and eat it within minutes.)

Update
I successfully made Pad See Eu from scratch. Without a wok. and with olive oil because I thought I bought grape seed oil, but actually bought white wine vinegar. Oh the joys of shopping internationally.
ps. I determined it was vinegar by its boiling point! I love chemistry!

Today was my first full day of classes (Full, because last week I skipped classes because I was dropping them, or got lost in Copenhagen so helplessly that I actually missed an hour-long class meeting) and I am pretty excited, albeit scared for the semester. My Complexities of Cancer class is going to be exceptionally interesting, and I am hoping to expand on my IL-2 work for our final research...

Lesson 1: Danish People are Really Nice
So yesterday I moved from my apartment in Albertslund to another apartment nearer to the city. Its a cute little walk-up across the lake from Copenhagen. We have a gorgeous view of the lake which is currently frozen over and covered by little kids in snow suits ice skating and older Danes walking and CURLING!
We have a ton of cute stores, and right below me is a THAI RESTAURANT, so basically...

First Day
Well, I’ve been awake for 29 straight hours….but I’m here, and I have a bus pass, and already ate Danish pizza, TWICE. I also cracked open my first Carlsberg but that’s a different story. Now I’m settling into my tiny room and trying to stave off sleep so that I can put myself onto the Danish time schedule from the get-go.
Tomorrow is orientation for REAL, so...

This time next week, I’ll be packing up the last of my belongings (because you know I’m never going to fit it all into my 2 lime green suitcases) and getting pumped for the biggest adventure of my life!
I finally got my housing assignment tonight, and I will be living at the Danmarks Internationale Kollegium…a sprawling 512 room compound in the Copenhagian suburb of Albertslund....
