The Wild midWest

Some people backpack the globe to find themselves. I moved to Wisconsin.

Ask me anything
So Sunday night I was luck enough to see the FC København v. Brøndby game..the big home-town rivalry. Think of it as the backyard brawl, european style. The whole game atmosphere was so much fun. Copenhagen has a open-bottle policy; you can drink anytime, anywhere (except the public busses). Therefore, all of Nørrebro was basically a big tailgate.
Barret and I ran into some Danish guys who explained that the FCK-Brøndby match was a “matter of life and death.” I can see why. Before the game, I was sitting at my kitchen table when the Brøndby Firm walked past, throwin smoke bombs and flares, and wearing guy fawkes masks. During the game, the flares and fireworks continued while the two firms screamed their fight songs.
FCK ended up winning, but I am now going to try and follow futbol a little more. I always liked watching Arsenal games with the guys back at Case….but the whole atmosphere was awesome, the fans were great, and the game wasn’t half bad. FCK ended up winning 2-0. I’m going to try and go back with Sean when he gets here in April…I’m so pumped.
